Enter the famous Lands End to John O’Groats ride fully supported with our team making the challenge great fun!
Cheshire Cycles of Warrington have put together this amazing package to ride one of the most prestigious and challenging cycle tours around the globe.
Fully supported by Mike Carlin, a qualified and experienced CyTech mechanic and his wife Liz, the event is carefully managed to take away any of the stress of riding one of the worlds toughest cycle challenges.
Taking in some amazing sights across Britain the ride includes some enduring climbs, epic descents and plenty of fun in the saddle.
With 2 ride choices, we cater from the intermediate cyclists to the elite racer opting for either 7 days of hard miles or 12 days of sporty pace.
We have prepared 2 fantastic routes depending on the speed and experience of the group.
A Fast 7 day ride taking in the 910 mile ride (shortest route) with an average of 130 miles a day and an average climb of 5000ft per day (total 35,000 ft). This route has been selected to include some fantastic views of Britain but is focused on speed and generally the roads are major A and B roads. We have rated this with a difficulty rating of 9/10 for fast experienced road cyclists who regularly cycle 100 miles and above.
A Sporty 12 day ride with a relaxed approach to take in the sights along the way covers 940 miles with an average of 80 miles a day and an average climb of 2500ft per day (total 30,000ft). This route has been selected to include some incredible sights and the road's are a mix of major A road's and quieter B road. We undertook LEJOG with a team of friends from Cayman, UK and New York. Initially we thought of getting friends and family to help the team to get through the experience, but thankfully we were introduced to Mike from Cheshire Cycles through one of the group members. Mike approached the ride with an impressive level of professionalism and care, carefully cataloging all of the bikes so that he had appropriate spare parts, collecting bikes from Manchester airport and servicing many of them before the ride. During the ride the bikes were meticulously maintained and therefore the bikes got through the ride without a hitch. The riders were the weak link. Aside from the care of the bikes, Mike is super easy going and thoughtful and I can honestly say without him we would not all have got through the ride. Perhaps the best endorsement I can give Mike is that the team are planning St Malo to Nice next year and Mike will be the first call we make.
If you want to do LEJOG or (similar) right you will hire Mike, period. Mike gave us faultless support from repairing mechanicals, assisting with flats, ordering and picking up parts en route, and checking every bike over at each stop on each day. This provided the team with peace of mind and allowed us to focus on what we came to do – ride. Mike’s attitude is spot on for an endeavour such as this – 100% can do and he gets stuck in and was part of the team from day zero. Thanks Mike.
A group of 7 friends and I did a 7 day LEJOG in July’18 with Mike as our mechanical support. Mike’s mechanical knowledge and expertise were second to none, however what really set Mike apart was his desire at every opportunity to ensure we were able to focus on riding our bikes and enjoying the journey. Pre-ride he was in touch with every rider individually, every morning our bikes were out and ready to go, every stop Mike was fixing any niggles and filling our bottles (and bellies) and every evening he took our bikes as soon as we rolled in. When you split the cost of Mike’s service across a number of riders bringing him along is a no-brainer and for me ensured our LEJOG was a 10 out of 10.
We used Mike as our support mechanic for a 7 day LEJOG ride in July 2018. His professionalism and attention to detail were a huge factor in making the ride a success and making sure we all got to our destination as planned. If you are planning any sort of multi-day cycling event, I can’t recommend Mike highly enough.
